The activities of the first national conference for financial technology started today in Sana’a, under the golden sponsorship of SabaCash – the electronic wallet launched by Sabafon in February 2022.
The four-day conference, with the participation of official companies, financial and technological institutions, and Yemeni experts aims to exchange and promote financial technology and financial inclusion, and to identify successful experiences and pioneering models in countries of the world to benefit from them.
In a statement to the media, the CEO of Sabafon, Mr. Ali Jahez, stressed that the new financial technologies will push towards the transformation of a real economy. He also noted the importance of the conference as it enhances financial inclusion, which is one of the most important goals of the national vision for building the country in partnership with the private sector.
Sabafon participated in enriching the conference with a working paper entitled (The Role of Information Security in Facing the Security Challenges of Financial Technology), which was presented by Eng. Bandar Hatem, Internet and IT Security Manager.
It is worth noting that SabaCash is an electronic money service provided by Sabafon in partnership with CAC Islamic Bank.
SabaCash can be used to transfer money, pay the cost of commercial purchases and utility bills such as mobile phone, home Internet, FTTP, 4G packages, pay salaries, online purchase and others in a safe and easy way. The service can also be used by connecting to the Internet through a dedicated application or through the “USSD short code” service for Sabafon subscribers or via SMS for Sabafon and Yemen Mobile subscribers at the present time, which enables you to conduct your financial transactions via mobile phone easily, quickly, and securely.
